Switzerland/ Sveitsi 2008

We are going to Switzerland in January. We will first teach 19.-26.1. in Bergun in 2. Tangoweek in Sun & Snow 2008. We will teach together with Dominik(SUI) & Jelena(GER), Martin(AUS) & Claudia(ARG) and Gonzalo(ARG) & Solange(GER). Orquesta TodoTango is playing live music and DJ Mehmet takes care of the rest of the night.
There will be classes in tango, vals, milonga, finnish tango, technique, body work (and pasi's cosmic morning workout), skiing, sledging, there will be milonga every night and fantastic food! It will be a Great Holiday indeed!!

Tammikuun puolivalista lahtien koko seuraavan kuukauden opetamme Sveitsissa, ensin Bergunissa 19.-26.1. kolmen muun opettajaparin kanssa. Suomessakin paljon opettaneet iki-ihanat Martin ja Claudia ovat tulossa, seka ystavamme Dominik ja Jelena jotka ovat koko festivaalin jarjestajia. Lisaksi Gonzalo(ARG) ja Solange(GER) liittyvat joukkoomme selvittyaan ensin TangoMagiasta. Ohjelmassa on tietenkin tangoa, valssia, milongaa, milongoja joka ilta, orkesteri TodoTango seka tekniikkaa, yleistreenia (mm. pasin kosmisia aamuharjoituksia)seka kaikenlaista talviliikuntaa (hiihtoa, laskettelua, kelkkailua 5km:n kelkkaradalla, lumikenkailya, kylpylassa lepailya, vaeltamista jne). Spring 2008

Amazing news!!! Pasi y Maria move to Finland!!! We won't be staying there very much, but at least the washing machine is there... In January we will travel to Switzerland to teach (see the post "Switzerland 2008") and later in the spring we will teach in Jyvaskyla, Oulunsalo, Helsinki and Tromso. More details yet to come!

Suomen kiertue

Lapin Tango Levillä on onnellisesti ohi, kiitos järjestäjä Juhani Tahvanaiselle ja kaikille kurssilaisille! Argentiinalaisen tangon jatkokurssilaiset olivat taitavia ja innostuneita, he halusivat jopa yhden ylimääräisen tunnin! Myös kisoissa tuli menestystä: Jukka ja Tuula Kortelainen tulivat kolmen tangon kisassa toiseksi!

Nyt tulevana viikonloppuna opetamme kotikentällä: Oulunsalon suuri tangoviikonloppu pidetään 26.-28.10.2007. Katso ohjelma www.oulunsalotango.net. Pulpo and Luiza in Tromsoe

Pulpo and Luiza finished their several months long tour in Tromsoe, Norway 4.-8.10. They gave both private and grouplessons. We were very happy to have them in Scandinavia for the first time! It is wonderful how they are able to show possibilities where one usually has not seen it. We are already waiting for them to come back!

Lapin Tango-Lapland Tango 19.-21.10. In Levi

In late October there will be a special tango event in Levi, well-known freetime-holiday center in Finnish Lapland. Not only Tango Argentino classes, but also Finnish Tango, tango dancing competition, karaoke singing contest (in Finnish, English, Norwegian, Swedish, Same, Spanish...), orchestras, party, spa, touring etc!

Maailmantango-festivaali Tampereella 20.-23.9.07

Ensimmäinen Maailmantangofestivaali järjestetään Tampereella syyskuun lopussa. Järjestävä organisaatio työskentelee läheisessä yhteistyössa mm. Tampereen kaupungin ja useiden Latinalaisen Amerikan lähetystöjen kanssa. Festivaaleilla saamme nauttia useiden kansainvälisten sekä kotimaisten muusikkojen esityksistä. Ohjelmassa on myös tanssikursseja, elokuvia ja paljon muuta. Opetamme Argentiinalaista tangoa kolmella tasolla, alkaen jo torstaina 20.9. Tarkempia tietoja osoitteesta maailmantango.com.

Amigos del Tango summer camp in Petäys 26.-29.July

Amigos del Tango organizes again the main argentine tango festival in Finland, this time in Petäys, close to Hämeenlinna. There will be teaching in five levels with five teacher couples: Juan & Graciana (Arg/Lisboa), Detlef & Melina (Ger), Pasi & Maria (Fin), Arto & Kirsi (Fin) and Pertti & Maija (Fin). Joensuu 2.-5.7.2007

Joensuun tanssileirillä on jälleen tarjolla myös argentiinalaista tangoa! Opetamme kahdella tasolla: perustaso ja jatkotaso. Perustasolla opetamme tarvittaessa myös alkeita, mutta sinne voivat tulla kaikki jotka haluavat syventää perustekniikan osaamista. Argentiinalaisen tangon peruskurssi kannattaa käydä ainakin muutaman kerran... Jatkoryhmässä opetamme oppilaiden tason mukaan haastavampaa materiaalia.

Himoksen leiri peruttu!!

Jämsän-Himoksen leiri on ikävä kyllä jouduttu perumaan! Se koskee tietenkin myös meidän maanantain (30.4.) opetuksiamme. Sitä vastoin Rovaniemen lauantai 28.4.07 pidetään suunnitelmien mukaan. Paikka on Rakkatie 6,

Close Embrace MiniFestival Easter 2007

We had a great party on Sunday night! Many of you DID ditch the mountains for some tango! Or maybe you had the chance to do both, which is even better. GlamourFest in Tromso 30.3.-1.4. (english)

On Friday evening the 30.3. we dress to impress in the great GlamourNight in Swingeriet. There will be food, Survival classes in tango, salsa and swing, 5 danceshows and of course tons of fantastic music and dancing! Do NOT miss that night!
During the week-end we will give classes for beginnerdancers and for women's technique.

Rovaniemi-Oulu-Jämsä (Himoksen leiri) (suomeksi)

Vappua edeltävänä viikonloppuna tulemme Tromssasta kolmipäiväiselle opetusreissulle. Lauantaina opetamme ensin Rovaniemellä, sunnuntaina Oulunsalossa ja maanantaina eli vappuaattona Jämsässä Himoksen tanssileirin yhteydessä. Tällä hetkellä vasta Oulunsalon ohjelma on täysin varmistunut. Siellä opetamme 2x1,5 tuntia alkaen klo 12. Päivän aiheet ovat boleot ja musikaalisuus. Jari F jatkaa opetuspäivää kello 15 eteenpäin. Himoksella on pitkä viikonloppu erilaisia lattaritansseja, ulkoilua, aktiviteettia ja vaikka mitä vappuriehaa. Me opetamme maanantaina 30.4. jatko-keskitasolle ja edistyneille, molemmille 2x1,5h. Tarkempi ohjelma on tulossa...

No Siesta Fiesta in Tromso 1.-4.3.2007 (english)

Tango (and Tango Polar) is strongly involved in No Siesta Fiesta latin festival in Tromso. There will be not only tangoconcerts and -classes, but also alot of other latin music and dancing during the festival. Tango beginners classes take place on Friday and Saturday. We will give classes on Saturday and Sunday as follows:

Saturday 3.3.:
15.30-17.30: intermediate: Tomas y Pasadas
18.00-20.00: advanced: Ganchos

Sunday 4.3.:
11.30-13.30: intermediate: Vals
14.00-16.00: advanced: Boleo combinaciones

All classes take place in Teaterloftet in Kulturhuset.

In addition on Saturday there will be a show with all the different dancestyles in Verkstedet. Show starts at 14.00.

Regular classes in Tromsø (in English)

There will be again FIVE TIMES regular Wednesday classes in IOGT-house just behind DRIV. The dates are as follows: 14. and 28.2., 7.3. 21.3 and 28.3.

Teaching will be in three levels 1,5 hours at a time:

17.30-19.00 Basics: comfort and confidence
19.00-20.30 Intermediate: musicality
20.30-22.00 Advanced: the living abrazo

Basics is NOT beginners class, though if you have taken a few beginners classes on Mondays it surely is enough. Basics means more concentrating on basic elements that makes tango more comfortable and fluid.
You can sign in IOGT before the classes.

I avansert nivå burde du ha en partner. Vi kommer til å bytte partner av og til, men det er litt viktig at alle sammen kan trene hele tiden.

Kuopio 9.-11-3.07 (in english and in finnish)

We will hold our first weekend in Kuopio 9.-11.3. There will be two levels plus one special workshop for teachers and those who are planning to become a teacher. Altogether there will be eight hours of teaching for both levels plus additional 1,5 hours for teachers. First class starts on Friday at 18.00 in Hotel Isovalkeinen, where all the classes take place. On Friday evening there is a milonga and on Saturday evening we can enjoy our friends Martin Alvarado`s and Lauri Manninen`s fantastic music. Kuopion Isovalkeisen viikonloppu lähestyy! Ensimmäinen yhteistunti kaikille tasoille on perjantaina 9.3. alkaen kello 18.00 (ilmoittautuminen 17.30). Kaiken kaikkiaan on 8 tuntia perus+jatko tasoille sekä 8 tuntia edistyneille. Lisäksi sunnuntai- aamuna klo 10.00 on opettajille oma workshop. Weekend in Helsinki 9.-11.2.07

We will teach in Helsinki during the following week-end! During six workshops we will cover improvisation, tomas y pasadas and double workshops on saccadas and volcadas. There will be milonga on saturday evening in Restaurant Pianissimo. Classes will be held in Aleksanterin teatteri and Munkkiniemen Yhteiskoulu.
