Joensuun tanssiviikko

Huh. Saavuimme suoraan Dusseldorfin milongasta Joensuuhun maanantai-iltana. Ja suoraan bileisiin. Tulimme rautatieasemalle ja käytännössä astuimme junasta aseman TangoBaariin. Eipä ole Suomihumppa ollut pitkään aikaan niin hauskaa! Pino ja Gilda ovat meidän kanssamme opettamassa tangoa. He ovat loistavia tanssijoita ja opettajia. Gildasta tuli hetkessä suomalaisen tanssikulttuurin fani! Kokeneena nyky- ja tangotanssijana meni alle minuutti ja hän oppi fuskut, jivet, jenkat, humpat, suomitangot jne. Meistä tuli taas vanhaan malliin Lavantautisia... Sekä Pasi että Maria riehuivat kuin viimeistä päivää!

Tangocamp Dusseldorf!!!

Tango heaven! It was fantastic to meet again old friends all over Europe and world! Luiza was there and she was so cool! She sends her love to all Tromso tangueros!!!!! DJ:s were absolutely one of the best we have ever met in milonga. Like all of them. Exactely right timing and rhythm during the night, Pasi got his D'agostinos and Donatos and Di Sarlis just when he wanted them. Even though it was the last TangoCamp and teachers had already been around for a month, they were able to give very good and interesting classes. Pasi also worked hard on Eugenia's women's technique...

TANGOCAMP!!!

Great classes with Gustavo and Giselle, Pablo and Dana and Eugenia and Ezekiel. They all have the great ability to make students dance better after the class.
And the shows! We have never seen Pablo and Dana dance like that! They really are the hottest couple in tango world today with their new approach and philosophy. Gustavo and Giselle danced again with precision and musicality that is incomperable. Tonite we are looking forward shows with Eugenia and Ezekiel, Damian and Nancy plus Sigrid and Mazen. But after all, shows are secondary entertaining, it is the milongas that matter!
Milongas have lasted easily til six in the morning with some of the greatest dancers in Scandinavia. Friday night was MasquaradePartyMilonga.

On our way to TangoCamp

We decided to take a little trip to Gothenburg before tangocamp to meet friends and get prepared. Perfect preparation: We went to Dansebutik and bought balet and jazz shoes for Pasi (yes sir!) and some other clothing for dance (ballet) training. After wards Maria found new soooo red adidas sneakers (see picture) and then we went to Liseberg, the old and great amusement park in Gothenburg! We were like kids (even more than normally) and ran to the spider, the house of horrors (terrifying!) and some other hairraising machines. We have now so much adrenalin and endorphin that we are going to dance like crazy...
